Mission and Purpose

Mission and Purpose: The Foundation supports a variety of charitable exempt organizations that provide critical food, housing, medical supplies, transportation and life support services to individuals and communities in need. The Foundation particularly focuses on the needs of individuals and families in Southeast Ohio and often partners with Christian based organizations.

SE Ohio Foodbank

  • In 2023, provided food assistance to 56,000 individuals including 15,000 children
  • Distributed 5.1 million pounds of food equivalent to 4.4 million meals
  • Provides food to 70 food pantries and meal providers across 10 counties in SE Ohio

Good Works

  • Manages Timothy House – provides housing for adults and children experiencing homelessness in SE Ohio. Operating since 1984.
  • On average, provides accommodations and food for 167 people per year.
  • Manages Hannah House, a long term transitional facility for single men & women without a home (since 1994)
  • Provides vehicles, bicycles and appliances for people in rural Appalachia through the Transformation Station (since 2004)

Habitat for Humanity

  • Offers affordable housing through no interest mortgages and accept sweat equity as down payment
  • Operates 3 independently owned “home and hardware” thrift stores in SE Ohio
  • Provides microfinance, loans up to $2,000 for small home improvements and appliance purchase/repairs
  • In 2023, Habitat for Humanity of SE Ohio served 60 families including building 6-8 homes per year
  • Provides financial budgeting and home repair education for homeowners

HAPCAP – Transportation Services

  • Community Action Agency supports 3 counties in SE Ohio
  • Provides door-to-door service within Athens County at a very affordable rate
  • Currently operates 13 vehicles. Logged 256,656 miles in 2023

Doctors without Borders

  • An independent , impartial organization that delivers emergency medical humanitarian aid globally
  • Provides 16 million medical consultations annually in more than 70 countries
  • Brings medical care to people affected by conflict, disaster, epidemics and social exclusion

American Red Cross

  • Feeds and provides supplies to victims of disaster, Responds to 65,000 disasters every year.
  • Furnishes about 40% of the nation’s blood supply
  • Distributes international humanitarian aid – for ex. Ukrainian crisis, Hurricane Doria (Bahamas), Typhoon Haiyan (Philippines)
